My heart-felt condolences to the entire family….I would like to say, Eva Mae Polk was my cousin by way of my Paternal Grandmother Susie Ann Gavin Philips. I met Eva Mae for the first time when I was 14 years old. She and my Dad are 1st cousins’. She made a huge impact in my life by teaching me about family values. She brought her entire family to Michigan so we could all “get-to-know one another” that summer of 1970. Later that same year, she came to pick my Sister Canarian and myself up…we spent a week in Chicago getting to know family we’d never met. Cousin Eva Mae made sure we felt at home, took us to educational and fun places such as, The Science Museum, Adventure Land to name of few…We were in awe, and so thankful to this day! She, Nadine, Gwen and Smokey showed us so much love that we still talk about it to this day. What a beautiful Woman of Family and Faith!
May she rest in Gods’ arms, Love you all, Joycelyn
